Reece Carter won five matches in girls’ U12 singles at the Junior Orange Bowl International in Florida, giving her a placing of 13-16 out of 128 top players from around the world! Carter followed up a 6-0, 6-0 win over Nina Sidhu with a 4-6, 7-6, 6-4 second round victory over No. 7 seed Robin Montgomery of the United States.

After losing to Alexandra Eala 6-1, 7-5, Carter won three more matches: she beat Japan’s Rio Osoegawa 6-2, 6-3 before earning a 6-3, 6-1 win over Bulgaria’s Denislava Glushkova (who beat the tournament’s No. 1 seed) and edging No. 9 seed Rebecca Lynn of the United States 7-6(7), 7-5. Carter lost in the quarterfinals of the full feed-in consolation draw to fellow Canadian Annabelle Xu 6-3, 6-3 to give her the 13-16 placing.
