Tennis Canada today announced the creation of the Fischer U12 National Indoor Cup, an upgrade to the existing Fischer U12 Indoor Nationals, to be held from March 25 to April 1, 2023. This event will be adopting a new format designed to help enhance age and stage competition for U12 players. The changes will improve the overall positive sport experience and provide an environment allowing players to develop and reach their potential.
The creation of this event is part of an ongoing effort to work with the Provincial Tennis Associations, clubs, coaches, the private sector, and partners to build a world-class competition structure. The Fischer U12 National Indoor Cup will provide a well-balanced format to include singles events, doubles events, and a team competition. The team competition is a best practice of international leading nations and is an important component to help foster a positive sport experience, develop camaraderie amongst players from all the provinces and territories, and deliver level-based matches for all involved.
