Two young Winnipeggers recently made their mark on the national stage at the U14 Fischer Indoor Junior Nationals in Vancouver.
Mariya Gedz and Kasbien Mikulsen proudly represented Team Prairies at the event, showcasing their skills against some of the top junior talent in the country.
Gedz had a standout tournament, capturing the girls’ consolation title and earning the tournament’s Sportsmanship Award for her dedication, positivity, and respect throughout the week.
Mikulsen also made a strong showing, picking up a win in one of his group stage matches and gaining valuable experience against elite-level competition.
Congratulations to both athletes on their accomplishments and for representing Manitoba and the Prairies with pride!
