Player Information – Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
1. What is an ITF Tournament?
This ITF tournament is part of the ITF World Tennis Masters Tour which provides a range of team and individual singles, doubles, and sometimes mixed doubles events for each age increment from 30+ to 90+.
You don’t need to play at a high professional level; you don’t even need an international tennis ranking! Simply sign-up to receive your unique ITF IPIN (International Player Identification Number).
There’s no cost to register for the IPIN. You only pay a fee for the tournaments you enter. Join the 30,000 players aged 30-98 who currently compete in over 580 tournaments worldwide as part of the ITF World Tennis Masters Tour.
2. What is an IPIN and do I need one to register for this tournament?
Yes, you will need to obtain an IPIN to enter this tournament. An IPIN is the ITF’s online entry service that allows players competing on the ITF World Tennis Masters Tour (“WTMT”) to enter and withdraw from ITF tournaments and effectively manage their competition schedule. Click here to find out how you can obtain an ITF Masters IPIN: https://www.itftennis.com/en/about-us/organisation/about-ipin/?type=masters
3. Is there a fee to register for an IPIN?
No. Registering for an IPIN is free. You only pay a fee for the tournaments you enter. In this MT100 Tournament, there is already a USD $12 ITF/IPIN service fee included in the entry fee.
4. What is the Canada Day Cup and what does the MT100 designation mean?
The Canada Day Cup is Manitoba’s inaugural ITF World Tennis Masters Tour event, proudly hosted at the prestigious National Bank Tennis Manitoba Hub in West St. Paul, Manitoba, within the greater Winnipeg area, celebrating Canada Day on July 1 with on-site festivities such as family-friendly activities and evening fireworks, plus a player social event on July 3 prior to championship weekend.
MT100 is the entry-level grade on the ITF World Tennis Masters Tour. These tournaments are designed primarily for local and regional players to experience ITF competition and earn their first ITF Masters ranking points. Draw sizes are typically smaller, and events are often completed within three days or fewer.
