The Winnipeg National Bank Challenger will be held July 7-15 at Winnipeg Lawn Tennis Club. Two of the finalists from 2017 competed in main draw singles at the French Open: American Caroline Dolehide and Canadian Peter Polansky.

Dolehide, last year’s women’s singles champion in Winnipeg, is ranked No. 125 in the world. She beat Viktorija Golubick of Switzerland 6-4, 6-4 in the first round of the French Open before losing 6-4, 6-1 to No. 13 seed Madison Keys of the United Staes. Polansky, ranked No. 124 in the world and runner-up to Blaz Kavcic at the 2017 Winnipeg National Bank Challenger, lost in the first round at Roland Garros to Pierre-Hugues Herbert of France 6-3, 4-6, 6-2, 6-2.
