Tennis Manitoba works with partners such as community centres, schools, not-for-profit groups, and parks and recreation departments to increase their recreation programming.

We provide a variety of tennis programs for the various ages and skill levels. Whether you have played before, are looking to improve your game, or just want some fun exercise, we have a program for you.

2017 Spring/Summer Programs

Tennis Manitoba has partnered with several community centres in Winnipeg to provide a variety of tennis programs for various ages and skill levels. For more information, please contact Jared Connell at (204) 925-5660 or jared@tennismanitoba.com.

Beginner tennis program is for individuals new to the sport. It’s a fun interactive way to learn the FUNdamentals of tennis.

Intermediate tennis program is for individuals who have grasped the FUNdamentals and are wanting to continue developing their tennis skills.

Cardio tennis is a fun high energy tennis activity that delivers the ultimate full body, calorie burning aerobic workout. No tennis skills required.


Linden Woods Community Centre Programs

Tennis Manitoba will facilitate programs at Linden Woods Community Centre on Thursdays from 6 to 7 pm starting May 18.

Program 1 – Instruction
8 weeks: instruction for beginners or intermediate 6-7 pm
Cost per person for 8 weeks: $70.00
Open to kids and adults

Program 2 – Cardio Tennis
Work out while your kids learn to play tennis
No tennis skills required
8 week program 6-7 pm.
Cost per person for 8 weeks: $70.00

Summer Camps At Linden Woods Community Centre
Linden Woods Community Centre is partnering with Basketball Canada Steve Nash program and Tennis Manitoba to form the foundation of a multi sport camp. Children will be able to play basketball, soccer, tennis, badminton, pickleball, dodgeball, volleyball, ball hockey and even some time at the spray park.

Each participant will receive: Reversible Jersey + Basketball + Drawstring Bag Certificate + Poster + Coin Bank + Parent Guide

Cost: $260 per week
Times: 8 am to 5 pm daily (drop off at 7:45 am)
Camps are for ages 6 to 14 and will run from Monday to Friday

Corydon Community Centre Programs 

Classes are open to kids and adults. Beginner and intermediate classes are offered at River Heights Community Centre and one level at Sir John Franklin Community Centre. To register, please contact Tara Abbott at tabbott@corydoncc.com.

May 16 – July 4 (River Heights on Tuesdays 6-8 pm)
May 17-July 5 (Sir John Franklin on Wednesdays 6-7 pm)

Tennis Manitoba will also be part of the Family BBQ at Crescentwood Community Centre on Wednesday, June 28 from 5-8 pm.

 

Sunova Centre Programs

Introduction to Tennis
Location: Riverdale Park Tennis Courts
Dates: 8-Sessions on Wednesdays starting July 5th
Time: 6-7 pm
Price: $70/Participant
Join Tennis Manitoba in West St. Paul. Introduction to Tennis is tailored with step-by-step, easy to follow lesson plans that will introduce people of all ages to the game of tennis. This intro program is a great way to get everyone out on the court and having fun. No tennis skills are required. Open to kids and adults.

Cardio Tennis
Location: Riverdale Park Tennis Courts
Dates: 8-Sessions on Wednesdays starting July 5th
Time: 6-7 pm
Price: $70/Participant
Work out while your kids learn to play tennis. Be a part of the world’s leading fitness craze – Cardio Tennis. Popular in the USA, Europe and South America. A fun way to get fitter then you already are. No tennis skills are required. Open to kids and adults.
These programs are delivered by a team of certified Instructors. Each Program is open to beginners, intermediate or advanced players. A minimum of 8 participants are required to run each program.

Sunova Centre Tennis Camp
Half-Day Afternoon Tennis Camp for ages 6-12 yrs
Monday, July 24th-Friday, July 28th, 1-4 pm

Join Tennis Manitoba at the Sunova Centre – West St.Paul’s Recreation Site for afternoons of tennis. Camp is tailored with step-by-step, easy to follow lesson plans that will introduce kids to the game of tennis. The instructors use equipment that has been scaled down to size – with smaller racquets, lower-bouncing balls and shorter courts. This allows any kid to have success playing right from the start This introductory program is a great way to get kids out on the court and having fun.
This Camp is delivered by a team of certified Instructors. Open to beginners, intermediate or advanced players. A minimum of 8 participants are required to run this Camp.
