Caroline Dolehide, singles champion at the 2017 Winnipeg National Bank Challenger, had an impressive run at the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells. Dolehide beat fellow American Shelby Rogers 3-6, 7-6, 6-3 and then edged No. 30 seed Dominika Cibulkova of Slovakia 5-7, 6-3, 6-4. In the third round, Dolehide took No. 1 seed Simona Halep of Romania to three sets before falling 1-6, 7-6, 6-2.

Last summer Dolehide won the Winnipeg National Bank Challenger women’s singles title with a 6-3, 6-4 victory over Japan’s Mayo Hibi and was a finalist in women’s doubles partnering with Kimberly Birrell of Australia.
