  • Here are some achievements from TTC players in 2017: Kevin Kylar, ranked No. 1 in Manitoba in men’s Open singles, won the men’s singles title at the Tech-Air Manitoba Open. Samantha Lee was champion in women’s singles at the Tech-Air Manitoba Open for the second straight year and finalist at the WLTC Open, Tuxedo Open and Tennis U Manitoba Finals. Shawn Sophasath reached the men’s Open final at the Tennis U Manitoba Finals. Heath Vermette won the men’s 3.5 singles title at the Deer Lodge Classic and was finalist at the Tuxedo Open and Tech-Air Manitoba Open. Tony Weekes represented Canada at the World Masters Games in Auckland, New Zealand, competing in A Grade Open 55+ men’s singles, A Grade Open 50+ men’s doubles with Nooangaroa Ngauora of Australia, and A Grade Open 50+ mixed doubles with Australia’s Darlene Dorman.
  • Taylor Tennis Club will host a Tennis Manitoba junior tournament in January. Tier 1 and Tier 2 events will be offered for age categories ranging from U9 to U18.
  • Students from Casa Montessori & Orff School are attending a weekly tennis program at TTC facilitated by Tennis Manitoba instructors.
