Reece Carter of Manitoba was a finalist in girls’ doubles at the U14 Outdoor Rogers Junior Nationals (August 28-September 3) in Mont-Tremblant, Quebec. Carter teamed up with Alberta’s Mia Kupres to win three matches before being edged 6-3, 6-7, 11-9 in the championship match by the Ontario duo of Dasha Plekhanova/Marina Stakusic.

In singles play, Carter went 3-0 in her round-robin group before losing in the Championship Flight Qualification. Carter’s round-robin victory over eventual Championship Flight winner Danielle Tuhten of BC was Tuhten’s only defeat of the tournament.

Manitoba was also represented in Mont-Tremblant by Marcello Audino, Stefan Barre and Fiona Mullins. Audino reached the final of Flight #4 boys’ singles, falling 6-1, 6-3 to Aram Noroozian of BC. Barre lost in the quarterfinals of Flight #3 boys’ singles, while Mullins was defeated in the quarterfinals of Flight #3 girls’ singles.
