Tennis Manitoba’s Reece Carter has been travelling with Tennis Canada’s U16 High Performance team since November 21.

This week, Carter and her fellow Canadians were in Miami, Florida competing at the Junior International Orange Bowl.

Carter came into the tournament unseeded in the main draw among 128 girls from 76 countries around the world. Carter went on to play nine competitive matches, finishing in the top 8-12 in the 14U girls’ tournament.

Carter was one of only two Canadians in this tournament to finish in the top 12 of their event.

The tournament is one of the most prestigious junior events in the world, as it’s been running for the past 57 years, with some of the biggest names in the sport’s history competing in it. Andre Agassi, Steffi Graf, Maria Sharapova, Roger Federer, Eugenie Bouchard, and Andy Murray all played at the International Orange Bowl before their professional careers.
